Ignacia Hofmann is a Chilean artist and designer based in Berlin and Barcelona. She works across mediums like oil painting, photography, and video to explore the interplay between nature, technology, and consumer culture.
With 15 years of experience as an art director, she has created immersive visual worlds for television, film, and digital media, as well as illustrated book covers. Ignacia holds a B.A. in Integrated Design with a Minor in Art History from the Universidad Católica de Chile, earned in 2010.
“Inspired by science fiction, anime, and advertising, my work reflects on how screens shape our perception of reality—framing what we see, directing our view toward the future, and obscuring what lies beyond. Having lived for seven months in a tent and spent countless hours immersed in digital environments, I explore these contrasts in my practice.
It is this hybrid approach—linking the commercial and the artistic—that drives my visual research, as I probe the tension between the organic and synthetic while reimagining the boundaries of what we consider natural.”
